Insulation Services include: Insulation of pipes, tanks & lofts upgrade to loft hatch's Draught proof windows and doors, Check ventilation and air flow to structures. Loft boarding and floor upgrades, roof upgrades. These can save up to 25 % heat loss .

Your home or building loses more heat through the roof space than any other part of your home and with the heat going through the roof so do your bills in trying to keep your home warm. We can give you an all in price for bringing your insulation up to the required and recommended level, including roof space, lagging pipes and hot water tanks, we do our utmost to cut your bills and make your home warmer.

There are several ways to insulate your loft or attic.

Often people think of the traditional rolls of fibreglass insulation that are laid between the joists. However this is often not the best way as fibreglass is not as efficient at controlling heat loss as other more modern (and more green) materials. Our teams place loft insulation quilt into traditional pitched roofs and as the depths of insulation have increased in recent years, the expertise and attention to detail necessary to carry out the work satisfactorily has increased.

Loft, attic and roof insulation

The current recommended depth for a domestic installation is 270mm, compared to an un-insulated loft, you can expect payback in 1 to 2 years and save over 1 tonne of CO2 emissions per year. If you are topping up your insulation to the recommended level then you could save enough money within 4 years to pay for the investment. Our installers are trained to the highest standards so whatever material is being installed then you can rest assured that the work will be carried out quickly, competently and with the minimum of disruption to your home.

Home energy efficiency through insulation is our business.

Insulating your loft area and roof space is one of the most beneficial ways to eliminate heat loss in your home. Save £180 - £220 per year and 1.5 tonnes of co2 (based on 0 insulation to 270mm). Current Government standard is 270mm or 11 inches. Whilst insulating your loft and home are important, maintaining adequate ventilation to structural supports is VITAL! Finding the right balance is the key. We Specialise in giving the right balance between caring for your property and your wallet

It can be quicker and about the same price to install Rockwool blown loft insulation which is claimed by many to be is the best modern solution to meet the thermal regulations for both newly built and and existing loft spaces. It has excellent thermal insulation and can also be used for topping up existing insulations. It is faster to install than conventional double layering of roll and here again it can significantly improve sound and acoustics. Spray-on insulation on the roof is a good option to consider, especially if your use the attic or loft space on a regular basis. This is made of polyurethane foam which is pumped through pressurized spray nozzles and adheres to the walls or sides. As it does so it expands to form a continuous insulating barrier. It can also help with strengthening the grip positioning of roof tiles thus making them less likely to come off in a storm. It adheres to most materials including tile, slate, wood, concrete, metal and even cloth.

Types of loft insulation to consider:

Blanket Insulation: Glass fibre, foil-backed felt, rock fibre or mineral fibre blanket insulation is available by roll. These rolls fit between the joists. This is probably the most common type of insulation but nor necessarily the cheapest or most efficient.. Granular: Cork granules, exfoliated vermiculite, mineral wool or cellulose fibre are all forms of loose fill insulation. This may not be the best method to use in a very draughty loft space, as the draught can cause the fibre to blow about in high winds. However it is easy to apply and is especially useful for areas where joists are irregularly spaced and where pipes or other obstructions make it difficult to lay a blanket insulator.  Sheet insulation: If you intend to use the attic area, you can insulate the sloping surfaces of the roof instead of the floor, although it's good idea to also insulate under the boarding on the joists too. Sheet insulation can also be fixed between the rafters.
